From the periwigged courtier of the days of the 18th century to Lloyd George and Ramsay MacDonald today. Mr. Speaker’s Gallery in the House of Representatives is embellished with prints of portraits of British Prime Ministers, the gift of Mr. Ernest Makower, of London. In the House of Representatives today it was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr. Makower for his gift, which includes Prime Ministers from 1721 to 1929., When the motion had been passed, Mr. F. Langstone (Labour —Waimarino) asked if New Zealand should reciprocate by sending portraits of Dominion Prime Ministers. The request was greeted with smiles, the broadest being on the face of Mr. Langstone.
