TE AWAMUTU TOPICS
The first meeting of parishioners of the newly-constituted St. John’s Parish was held in the Parish Hall, Te Awamutu, on Tuesday evening, when Mr. H. A. Swarbrick vicar’s warden, presided over a fair attendance. Mr. N. E. Lee was elected unopposed as people’s warden. The following were elected to the vestry:—Messrs. J. G. Wynyard, H. J. Collins, H. Holt, J. Bent, G. O. Jourdain, H. Focke, A. E. Richardson, Dr. Prinz, Davey and H. Judge. It was decided to hold a social evening following the induction of the vicar and to commemorate the forming of St. John’s Parochial District into a parish.
