£40,000 DISCOVERED
COUNCIL WANTED TO BORROW MORE BIG BALANCE UNUSED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The discovery that there was an unexpended balance of unemployment relief work loans amounting to £40.000 at the same time as a recommendation was tabled £hat preparation be made to raise another £25,000 for unemployment relief provoked criticism of the Works Committee at least evening’s meeting of the City Council, and calls were made for an Investigation to include the engineering department. The clause was taken back by the committee that brought it forward.
