ESTATE OF G. E. FAIRFAX NEWSPAPER DIRECTOR CHARITABLE BEQUESTS SYDNEY', Wednesday. The New South Wales estate of the late Mr. G. E. Fairfax, who was chairman of directors of Messrs. John Fairfax and Sons, proprietors of the “Sydney Morning Herald,” is valued at £747,937. Subject to certain charitable bequests the estate is to be equally divided between the testator’s brothers, Mr. John Hubert Fairfax and Dr. Edward W. Fairfax, his sister. Mary Fairfax, and' his nephew, Mr Warwick Oswald Fairfax.
The testator’s shares in the “Sydney Morning Herald” are disposed of in a similar manner. The charitable bequests include £I,OOO to each of the three chief Sydney hospitals and £SOO each to the Sailors' Home and the Royal Naval House.
