POWERFUL MEMBERSHIP AIDS AUSTRALIAN COMBINE LOCAL AUTONOMY DESIRED SYDNEY’, Wednesday. The executives of the Australian Workers’ Union and of the Miners’ Federation, two of the largest unions in Australia, have agreed to amalgamate. The combined membership will be 200,000. There will be local autonomy with regard to the administration of domestic affairs. The scheme awaits ratification by the members.
