WEIGHT GUESSING WINNER
“PARAMOUNT” PARTY CAKE Before a crowded Civic Winter - garden last evening the ‘‘Paramount Parade” birthday cake weightguessing competition was decided. At o’clock the Rev. Jasper Calder, Mr. Stormont, designer and maker of cake, and officials of the Civic Theatre, weighed the cake on special scales. The winner was Mrs. E. Bancroft, of Jtovonport, who guessed within 6oz of actual weight, her guess being liJJr 2oz » while the actual weight was This was certainly an achievement S?A Mrs * Bancroft’s part, as the other uo-odd candidates varied in their a?^ s betwe en 131 b and 8371 b.
