Rowe moved: “That the merger the Otahuhu Trotting Club into and *ith the Auckland Trotting Club on a terms of the agreement entered •o between the trustees of the reflective clubs be and the same is reby affirmed, and the trustees and mmittee be empowered and authosed to do all things necessary to jry such merger into effect and with to make such variation in the rms as the committee may consider dvisable.” In seconding the resolution, Mr. C. Schnauer outlined the proposed malgamation at length, stating that it ras a wise move both in the interests (the two clubs and the general imrovement of the sport. The motion as carried unanimously. In accordance notice of motion, i!so moved by the chairman, the exiting rules and regulations were mended to suit the requirements of tclub consequent upon the amalgamion of the two local trotting bodies, lembers present also approved the ioption of this motion unanimously. Mr. Rowe gave his assurance that the recommendation would be iinded on to the committee. The chairman, speaking of the fine sport provided during the season by ,io club, paid a tribute to the work of he handicapper, Mr. G. Paul. He also iaid a warm compliment to the clerk of the course, Mr. Hirst, for his tact and horsemanship in retrieving runaway horses. Appreciation was also • xpressed of the services rendered by he secretary, Mr. A. G. Mabee. and retiring stewards and committecemen.
