MR. A. BURNS RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED At a meeting of the Auckland Edu- ; cation Board held this morning Mr. A. ’ Burns was unanimously re-elected : chairman and four new members. • Messrs. E. C. Purdie, AV. E. Spooner, It. I A. Hew and J. Patterson were welcomed as the new members to the j board. In moving the re-election of the i chairman, Air. E. C. Banks said that | Mr. Burns had held the position for j six years and he had put in a tremen- j dous amount of work. The board could j not have a better man for its chairman. There were no other nomina- ? tions. Mr. Burns thanked the members for i the confidence which they had shown j in him. There were troublesome times ; ahead and the members of the board j did not know when they would have to ! go before the electors to retain their | seats. The following were elected as the j executive committee for the ensuing ! vear:—Messrs. W. J. Campbell. T. E. . Wells, E. C. Purdie and G. Brownlee. |
