The application of the Onehunga Borough Council to widen Esplanade Road, Onehunga, was granted. SAND FROM BEACH A letter was received from the Auckland City Council asking for permission to remove small quantities of sand and shell from the beach at Paruroa Bay, Manukau Harbour, for the purpose of using it on walks and drives approaching the beach. Although Air. A. AI. Laing opposed granting permission, the request was granted, to be terminated at the discretion of the board when it sees fit. The board’s attitude toward the establishment of a commercial airport for Auckland will be considered by the board in committee at a later date. A request for permission to use part of the old dock site as a miniature golf course was refused.
