LAUNCH’S SECOND MISHAP
NICOLA ASHORE AT DEVONPORT The launch. Nicola, which was missing for some days a fortnight ago owing to engine trouble while on her way from Clevedon to Auckland, was ashor© this morning on a beach at Devonport. It is not known whether she has sprung a leak, but she is reported to be full of water and lying on one side. The two brothers McCollum are aboard th© boat. The launch left Kaiaua, in the Eirtli of Thames, on August 7, and arrived at Devonport yesterday. It appears that she filled with water before the tide could lift her and sank at her moorings. The boat is 36ft in length, and was coming to Auckland to take on some gear in preparation for a fishing trip. No serious damage has been done and Messrs. A. and K. McCollum hope to continue on their trip later in the week.
