RICH STRIKE OF GEMS ON AUSTRALIAN FIELD
BLACK OPAL REPORTED GOLD IN QUEENSLAND United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 11.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Two miners at Grawin, near Walgett, report a rich find of black opal in new country. The gems raised are worlli about £6OO. A Brisbane message says a rich gold reef has been discovered near the old reef at Pratton. Prospectors say the reef contains free gold estimated at 50oz to the ton.
