KARTIGI TO SURVEY.—The Union Company’s Kartigi, w’hich arrived at Wellington on Saturday morning from Portland to complete discharge of her cargo from Melbourne, Devonport. and Newcastle, has paid off, and will lay up there .for survey. THE NEW ZEALAND.—The Texas Oil Company’s tanker New Zealand, which arrived from San Pedro via Australian ports yesterday to complete discharge of her cargo of bulk oil, is scheduled to sail for San Pedro at 2 o’clock this afternoon. MAHENO’S PASSENGERS. The Union Company’s Maheno, which left Wellington on Saturday for Melbourne, via Bluff, took the following saloon passengers: Airs. E. M. Burnett, Air. G. Bruzzo. Airs. A. Brown, Air. A. Franz, Air. and Airs. J. T. Alatson, Air. A. Spence, Miss Shearer, Air. J. E. Semmens, and 11 steerage. CARGO FROM MEXlCO.—Advice received by Henderson and Alacfarlane, Ltd., states that the Norwegian motorship Fernwood, with cargo from New* Orleans and Tampico, left Tampico on August 3 4 for Auckland, Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin. Wanganui, Sydney and Alelbourne. She is scheduled to reach Auckland about September 20. HERTFORD LEAVES LIVERPOOL.— The Federal Line steamer Hertford is reported to have cleared Liverpool on Saturday with general merchandise from West Coast United Kingdom ports for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth. She is due at Auckland on September 23. The New* Zealand Shipping Company is the local agent. INTERCOLONIAL CARGOES.—The following are the movements of Union Company vessels in its inter-colonial cargo service:— The Gabriella is to load at Newcastle early this week and complete at Sydney for Wellington, New Plymouth and Wanganui. The Kalingo, from Coff’s Harbour, is due at Lyttelton today and later proceeds to Timaru, Wanganui and Gerymouth. The Kaponga is to leave Westport early this week for Alelbourne, thence to Devonport, Adelaide, Edithburg and Alelbourne to load for Auckland. Portland, New Plymouth and Wellington. The Karetu is to leave Bluff early this week for Sydney, thence to Newcastle and Sydney, to load for Bluff, Dunedin, Oamaru and Lyttelton. The Kawatiri is to leave Wellington today for Napier to complete, discharge of her coal from Newcastle. The Omana is due at Sydney tomorrow and will load there and complete at Newcastle for Auckland. The Poolta. from Grafton. Port Stephens and Newcastle, is due at Wellington tomorrow and will later proceed to New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Bluff and Greymouth. The Waikouaiti. from Newcastle and Sydney, was to leave Wellington' yesterday for Lyttelton, thence to Sydney and Newcastle. PENYBRYN’S MOVEMENTS. Spedding, Ltd., received this morning a wireless message from the master of the Norwegian steamer Penybryn, which stood by the liner Tahiti while needed, stating that he thought it inadvisable to steam into the south-west gale now blowing, and so had put about and is now bound for Suva, where the vessel will replenish her bunkers, which are low. An arrangement made yesterday for the Union Company’s Waipahi to sail tomorrow with coal for the Penybryn and to bunker her at the Kermadec Islands has therefore been cancelled. With the small amount of bunkers left him the master of the Penybryn was disinclined to risk beating into the gale in an effort to reach the Kermadecs. The vessel will now have the wind behind her on the trip to Suva, and there will also be various islands adjacent where lie can anchor if his supply should fail him before making Suva. The Penybryn is now not expected to arrive at Auckland until toward the end of next week to discharge her cargo of raw sugar from Cuba at Chelsea. ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY.—After a fair-weather passage, the HuddartParker Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa arrived in port this morning from Sydney. ARMADALE REPORTS.—A radio me*, sage received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the steamer Armadale, e> route from New York to Auckland. states that she expects to arrive at Suva on Thursday to put out a quantity of cargo. She will then come cm to Auckland. ANTI OPE FROM CASABLANCA.— Henderson and Alacfarlane, Ltd., has received cabled advice that the steamer Antiope cleared Casablanca on August 14 with a full cargo of phosphates for unloading at Auckland, New Plymouth and Wanganui. She is expected to arrive here on October 1. WAIPAHI FOR ISLANDS.—The Thloti Steam Ship Company’s Island fruit steamer "Waipahi is to sail at 11 o’clock on Thursday morning lor Rarotonga, Aitutaki. Axin' and Alauke. She will take general cargo, stores and mails for discharge, and load another cargo of fruit at those places for discharge in New Zealand. THE TOFUA. —The Union Company advises that its Island passenger steamer Tofua is due at Nukualofa tomorrow morning, and is running three days late in her schedule dates. She Fill jXrall at Pago Pago for the purpose *f taking aboard the Island passengers an 4 crew of the Tahiti who will arrive at Pago Pago by the Ventura tomorrow.
