FAILED TO REPORT
EXTENSION OF PROBATION FOR MECHANIC WARNED BY MAGISTRATE Stanley James Jensen got himself into trouble by failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his probation. Jensen, a motor mechanic, aged 27, pleaded guilty to the charge before Mr, F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court today. The probation officer, Mr. A. J. Campbell, said that Jensen had been admitted to probation on July 11, 1925. and ordered to make restitution of £44 10s. Only partial restitution was made, and Jensen failed to report. On July 15 of last year his probation was extended, but he still failed to report. He was a married man with a wife and two children. Mr. Hunt, to accused: Why don’t you report? Jensen: At present I am working in the country near Papatoetoe, but before that I was out of work for seven months. “Well, why can’t you report at Papatoetoe?” asked Mr. Hunt. Mr. Campbell said that Jensen still owed £27 10s restitution. “Well, I’ll give him smother 12 months’ extension of probation.” said the magistrate. “Nov/, you be careful to report,” he warned Jensen.
