HISTORIC VESSEL

ELEANOR BOLING PURCHASED The historic. steamship Eleanor Boling which acted in the capacity of supply ship of the Byrd Antarctic expedition, was sold in New York at an auction on July 17. She will shortly be in operation in the Arctic waters between the north of Greenland and Novla Scotia as a sealer. The vessel has been purchased by the Marine Agencies, Ltd., of Newfoundland at the cost of £3,700. She will be altered for the new service. The hold, which carried the necnasities of life to the members of -the Byrd camp in Little America flrir eighteen months, will he converted into a storage space for seal ca&jh, and the crew’s quarters will be enlarged to accommodate the seal hunters.
