RESCUERS GIVE UP
NC HOPE LEFT FOR LIVES OF ENTOMBED MEN FIRE IN MINE FEARED VANCOUVER, Saturday. The rescue parties at the Blakeburn colliery, where 46 miners are still entombed, were withdrawn last night. A dense cloud of smoke began to roll toward the men and it was feaied that there was fire in the lower levels involving the danger of another explosion.
