TO PLAY THE “KIWIS”
AUCKLAND LEAGUE TEAM SELECTED 20 PLAYERS FOR PRACTICE The preliminary selection of the Auckland team to play the touring New Zealand Rugby League side on its return to New Zealand at Carlaw Park next Saturday afternoon was made on Saturday evening. The Auckland representative selection committee, Messrs. E. K. Asher, IT. Avery and J. Clark, has selected the following, from which the final team will be chosen. BACKS G. Perry (City). F. Delgrosso (Ponsonby). Lee (Richmond). I*. O’Leary* (Devonport). Smith (Devonport). P. Brady (Marist). L. Riley (Ponsonby). S. Prentice (Richmond). W. Shortland (City). W. Hassan (Marist). R. Carter (Kingsland-Athletic). FORWARDS ,T. Stevens (Ponsonby). Fagan (Ponsonby*). J. O’Brien (Marist). W. Hadley (City*). Ruby* (Devonport). A. Hobbs (Ellerslie). A. Clarke (Marist). G. Campbell (Marist). Francis (Newton). The play*ers will practice at Carlaw Park on Tuesday and Thursday evening this week, commencing at 7.30 p.m. Any player not available is requested to notify Mr. E. K. Asher immediately*.
