Work at Epsom The Abbey and Explosion were commons in a useful bout over several rcuits, during which the latter again ,ve a pleasing display of trotting. The Abbey, paced In bold style and dismayed a keenness in his work that iVurs well for future succes. 3 * * * Although only in a couple of weeks, -pile Axworthy Is pacing in fine style :.d suggets she will not take long to ready for sprint events. The Worthy Bond —Haricot colt in A. jliar/s stable also gave a nice disiav and the tliree-year-old is pleas--V his party by the resolute manner -which he does his work. * $ * Prince Triumph was seen to advance in a sound allotment over three ircuits. F. J. Smith lias the Triumph trotter rounding into splendid shape for spring racing. * * * Moko Chief, with trainer Tuke in the sulky, pleased by the manner in which he executed a task over a mile and a-half. The son of Peter Moke looks the part and acts it well on his own, but it remains to be seen if he will show improvement on the racetrack. * * * On Saturday Arachno reeled off a mile and a-half in resolute fashion, unwinding a fine turn of speed over the final stages. On returning to the paddock after her task Arachne took fright and bolted down the course, where she came to grief. The mare did not appear much the worse for the incident. Chrystal was in better form and gave an even display over tw-elve furlongs. The grey was hustled along over the last half and acquitted hmiself creditably. * * * Stoney Goes Well Evelyn Locanda, Pavlova and Nelson Tasker set out on a two-mile journey, but before It was completed there was a field of six in the bout. With a few furlongs covered Stoney joined in and shortly afterward J. McKendrick stepped out Windshield, who acted as pacemaker ,and then F. Smith joined in ”ith Student Prince. With half the distance traversed the pace became iivelle:* and over the last four furlongs they were travelling at a good clip. Pavlova threw out S.O.S. signals in the last pinch and Stoney, who had Paced well throughout, finished slightly m - r °nt of Evelyn Locanda.
