Cocaine weighing 250 ounces and valued at £15,000, was discovered ingeniously concealed in a consignment of porcelain tiles aboard the Japanese steamer Seale Maru. Customs officers also discovered a large quantity in tins of preserved fruit among the cargo of the same ship, and it is believed the officers have unearthed a widespread conspiracy to distribute cocaine throughout British Malaya, Burma and India.
