STRUGGLE IN OFFICE

POSTMISTRESS TELEPHONES FOR POLICE INTRUDER ESCAPES Press Association , WELLINGTON, Today. An alarming experience befell Miss Jennings, postmistress at Ngaio, yesterday afternoon, when a man entered tho building and attempted to force his way behind the counter. Miss Jennings called for help, but as the post and telegraph office, which is really a small shop converted into an office, is rather isolated, she was unable to get any response. Finally she made a rush for the nearest telephone and rang for the police. Meanwhile, the intruder made his escape. Nothing apparently was taken from the office.
