MRS. T. I. POWELL Mrs. Hannah Powell, a daughter of one of the original Albertland settlers, has died at Te Hana. She was born 67 years ago and married Mr. Thomas Powell in ISBB. She is survived by five daughters and four sons. Mr. Powell died some years ago. MR. F. G. STOREY Born in Ireland 71 years ago. Mr. Francis G. Storey, who died at Waiterimu yesterday, came to New Zealand at the age of 16. Settling at Waiterimu in 1885, he was one of the first settlers to take up land there. He is survived by his wife, eight daughters and two sons. MRS. J. HUMPHREYS Mrs. J. Humphreys, who was born at Plymouth in 1861 and came to New in 1874, has died at Omaunu, near Whangaroa. She married 45 years ago and had lived at Omaunu since 1914. She is survived by her husband and a family of six, Messrs. Sydney Humphreys (Paparoa), and Albert Humphreys (Waiuku); Mesdames S. Hogan (Rotorua), S. Lees (Mount Albert), T. Scoon and R. .1. Partoon (Omaunu). mr. K. McDonald Mr. Kenneth McDonald, a pioneer of the Whangarei district, died yesterday. He was born in Nova Scotia 80 years ago. and arrived in New Zealand with his parents when he was six. The family settled at Waipu. Mr. McDonald remained a bachelor all his life. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Messrs. M. McDonald, Auckland, and J. McDonald, South Auckland, Mesdames Campbell and Neil McLean, Whangarei. MR. G. WILCOCK Mr. George Wilcock, a pioneer of the Manawatu and Wanganui districts, has died at the age of 87. He was born at> Pontefract, Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand in 1874Joining the Railway Department, he became foreman of works for the New Plymouth. Woodville and Foxton section. a position which he held until he retired in 1904. He then took up farming at Opunake, where he lived for ten years. He is survived by his wife and a family of eight. There are 35 grandchildren and 20* great-grand-children. MR. A. F. ALLWOOD Mr. Augustus Frederick Allwood died on Wednesday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. K. Ryan. Born at Burton-on-Trent in 1863, he came to New Zealand with his parents and brother in 1881. Five years later he married Miss Alexandria McLeod. They lived successively at Parua Bay and Whangarei, before coming to Auckland, where Mrs. Allwood died some years ago. Mr. Allood was a prominent Freemason and a member of the Carlton Bowling Club. He is survived by two daughters and four sons. MR. WALTER RICHMOND
The death has occurred at the Waikato Hospital this week of a wellknown Leamington resident, Mr. Walter Richmond, aged 69 years. Born in Somerset. England, he came to New Zealand 40 years ago. He was farming for many years in the Rangitikei district. About 23 years ago he went to the Waikato and took up land on the Hauraki Plains. Some years later he retired, and settled at Leamington. Mr. Richmond was a member of tho Leamington Town Board for eight years, and for six years he was chairman. occupying the office up to tho time of his death. lie was a member of the Masonic craft for a great many years. He is survived by his second wife and a large adult family. MR. A. E. WARNCKX Mr. Alexander Elder Warnock, % well-known resident, died at his home in Francis Street, Takapuna, on Wednesday evening. He was born near Glasgow in 1574, and came to New Zealand at the age of 23. Mr. Warnock commenced business as a public accountant and auditor many years ago. At the time of his death he was one of the leading members of the accountancy profession. He occupied a high position in the Auckland commercial world, and was president of the Auckland Club. He was also a. member of the Lodge Takapuna and of the Savage Club. He is survived by his wife, and a daughter. Dr. Alexandra Warnock. of Takapuna. The funeral took place at O’Neill’s Point cemetery this afternoon.
