MORE MONEY NEEDED
DOOR OF HOPE'S YEAR "The quiet nature of the work that the association is doing has a disadvantage from the financial point of view, as spectacular work usuallv makes a greater appeal to the public.” Thus read a section of the 34th report of the Door of Hope Association, presented at the annual meeting last evening. Mr. Grey Campbell presided. The report stated that the association now derived little revenue from donations. It was hoped this might be remedied during the coming year by some definite action to increase the number of donors. The grounds of the home had been considerably improved by the erection of protecting fences. The financial statement showed a debit balance of £298. This debit had been covered by a legacy, but renovations to the association’s homes would require more revenue. The two retiring members, Messrs. H. D. Guthrie and H. Ennor. were reelected. The Rev. J. Bissett gave an address.
