AMATEUR WINS WITH 600 POINTS START BILLIARDS IN WELLINGTON Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. For the first time in his tours of the Dominion when he conceded starts to local amateurs the professional billiards player, Clark McConachy, suffered a defeat last evening. lie played an exhibition match of 1,000 points, conceding Shanks, the Wellington provincial amateur champion, 600 points’ start. Shanks reached J ,000 when McConachy was 959. Shanks’s breaks were 66, 53, 45, 34, 29, ,21 and 26 unfinished. MeConachy’s were 158, 14S, 127, 89 71, 59, 51, 45, 40.
