United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 9.55 a.m. MONTREAL, Tues. A message from Ottawa says that definite plans for the early setablishment of a British - Canadian airship service, embracing as a possibility the construction in Canada in the near future of an Atlantic type of airship, were laid before the Prime Minister. Mr. R. B. Bennett, today by Sir Dennistoun Burney, who later described his interview as most satisfactory. He indicated he was in a position to discuss the matter with the British Government.
A message from St. Huberts airport says the British airship R.IOO will start on its return to England at 10 o’clock on Wednesday evening.
A minor defect in the starboard forward engine and a slight tear in the fabric are being repaired. The dirigible returned to Montreal and moored at St. Huberts airdrome near that city at 6 p.m. from its short Canadian flight. The ship was away for 24 hours, during which she visited Niagara Falls and many towns, and was greeted by huge crowds. A British Official Wireless message says the airship may take a more southerly cruise and there is a prospect that, after xtassing up the Bristol Channel, she may fly over London on the way to Cardington. The Canadian Government has been greatly impressed by RIOO, and it is reported it may shortly consider the construction of a larger ship.
