STAYING UP SIX WEEKS

AIRMEN SEEK RECORD FOR ENDURANCE THREE WEEKS SO FAR Reed. 9.20 a.m. ST. LOUIS, Tuesday. Feeling that they are assured of establishing a world refuelling record, Dole Jackson and Forest O’Brine today talked of keeping their monoplane in the air for six weeks—just over 1,000 hours. At noon today they had slightly more than 20 hours to go before wresting the record from the Hunter brothers, of Chicago. The Hunter brothers, in the airplane *»ity of Chicago, a few months ago broke all sustained flight records by remaining aloft for 23 days 1 hour 40 minutes. A broken oil gauge caused their descent. “Such a flight is one thing we will never go through again as long as we live,’* the pilot said on landing. “it was the last word in misery and torture.”
