RIALTO, NEWMARKET

“THE ILOVE DOCTOR” Richard Dix has the lead in “The Love Doctor,” the main feature at the Rialto Theatre. Acting in his usual easy manner, Dix has the role of the conventional doctor who has no patients and practises golf in his surgery during office hours. His knowledge of medicine corresponds with his empty bookcase, but he thinks he knows the stimulant that will make love run right, and tells the rules to a pretty nurse. She is supposed to apply the knowledge to a patient, but it is the doctor himself who receives the physic. There is another girl besides, and things get just nicely mixed up. The high standard of the big film is maintained in the supporting programme, which is headed by the drama “Lady Lies,” starring Claudette Colbert and Walter Huston.
