A meeting of the Advisory Board will take place this evening. First-class Tests First-class tests will be held at Lake St. John next Saturday, commencing at 2 p.m. The next first-class tests at Western Springs will be held on September 13 Entries close on Monday, September H. There will be only one further examination for first-class this year. Proficiency Badge Examinations Entries for the next proficiency badge night close on Monday, August 25 The examinations will be held at St James's Hall, Wellington Street, on Tuesday, September 2. The results of the last proficiency badge examinations are as follow: Public Healthman. TValker (St Barnabas). Healthyman.—Jacombs (Kitchener), Perkins (St. Barnabas), McDermott and A. Godfrey (Eilerslie), Lucas (Hawke), and Harvey (Edendale). Missioner. —Massey (St. Mary's), Anderson and Alexander (Edendale), Perkins and Milne (St. Barnabas), Turner and Leitch (Calliope), Grainger (Cornwell), Langabeer (Hawke). Anderson (Gordon). Midgley (St. Albans) and Russell (Eilerslie). ♦% • * Commissioners' Visit The St. James’s Wolf Cub Pack had the pleasure of a short visit from Mr. W. J. Holdsworth (Metropolitan Commissioner), Mr. A. J. Veart (District Commissioner) and Mr. N. M. Matheson (Assistant-Commissioner for Wolf Cubs) at their meeting last week. The pack was busy with tenderpad and spar work, and the visitors, after watching the different sixes at work, expressed satisfaction at the way their activities were being carried out. * u u Sea Scout Pound Night Another pound night for the Sea Scouts will be held on Friday, August 15, at the rooms of the Flying Angel Mission, commencing at 7.30.' An attractive programme has been arranged. Daffodil Day Scouts of the Auckland district will be taking part in the work on Daffodil Day, which will be held on Friday, September 5. They are requested to keep this day in mind, and already can assist by obtaining promises of flowers. Further particulars will be advised later. # m Kitchener Troop A successful concert, organised by the Kitchener Troop committee, was held at the Gordon Road Methodist Schoolroom last Saturday evening, when an excellent programme was responsible for a packed house. The proceeds were in aid ot troop funds. Cornwell “Bring and Buy" The Cornwell Scouts are asked to remember the “bring and buy” evening to be held at troop headquarters on Thursday. August 14. * * * Mount Albert News Prairie Wind reports for the Mount Albert Troop: “At the badge night in July several of our Scouts passed the tests for some badges. Scout Mackay passed the Friend to Animals, Handyman and Missioner’s badges. “At our meeting on July 25 we held a pound night. That night was also our first night in our new Scout hall. Mr. Hyde announced that the Australian boomerang, which Mr. Norwood. the founder of the troop, had presented, had been won by the Bull patrol. The marks were given for the weekly inspection of the patrols and for the badges passed by Scouts. Each Scout of the patrol will retain the boomerang in his home for tv/o months.”
