BOXING TONIGHT
McINNES AND PALMER There should be hard fighting: aplenty when Tommy Mclnnes, of Scotland, and Dave Palmer, of Australia, clash at the Auckland Town Hall this evening. The Scot is well-remembered for his performances here about two years ago and Auckland fans will be ready to acclaim him if he can produce anything like his form here against Lachie Macdonald. In Palmer, Mclnnes has an opponent reported to be a hard-punching fighter, so the bout should be marked with some willing rallies. Since leaving here, Mclnnes has fought Steve McCall, and Tommy Milligan, ex-European middle-weight champion, said that the former won 10 rounds, McCall three, and two were drawn, but the decision went to McCall, who later fought Len Harvey foi: the European title. Mclnnes says he should have been the one to fight Harvey. Ho reports himself in good condition and expects to show Aucklanders that ho is the Mclnnes of old.
