PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD
The Papakura Town Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. McCall, presiding. During a discussion on the subject of the petrol-tax, a motion expressing the opinion that the time had arrived when the osef; of the roads should construct and maintain them was defeated. It was decided to vote £ 1 to the Great South Road Beautifying Council toward the cost of planting a small reserve in the town district
Tenders are to be invited for the lease of two areas in Prince Edward Park. The finance committee reported that * debit balance of £713 8s Id existed *n the general fund, the expenditure being heavier this year than on former occasions.
The works committee intimated that the re-sealing of the shoulders on the Great South Road was proceeding apace, and that repair work had been undertaken on the Hunua highway.
