POPULAR ANNUAL CARNIVAL
The Kiwitahi HallrMorrinsville, presented a carnival scene on Friday evening, when the popular annual children’s dance was held. The judges of costumes were Mesdames A. I. Walker and R. G. Fawkner, who awarded prizes to the following:—Youngest boy, Sam Davies, as Santa Claus; youngest girl, Nancy Washbourne, Fairy; girls under four years, Gwen Currall, Miss Muffit; boy under four years. Jack Lamer, W hite Rabbit; five and six years, girls, Gay McMillan, Powder and Patches; Barbara Washbourne, Old English child. Boys, Colin Barlow, Tin Soldier; Ray Turner. Sunny Jim. Seven and eight years, Elaine Howie, Old English lady; Jack Currall, Golliwog; June Howie, Drummer Boy. Eight and nine years, Graham Howie, Old English; Claude Mikklesen, Cowboy. Ten and twelve years, Elaine Smith, Dutch Girl; Albert Barlow, Golliwog. Best couple. Thelma Smith and Zoe Saunders, Princes in the Tower. Special prizes: Betty Larner, Bed Hiding Hood; Zona Miller, Blackbird; Neville Washbourne, Dutch Boy; Jack Rushton, Gipsy Pierrot.
