WAITEMATA CLUB'S RACE

The Waitemata Pigeon Flying Club contested a race from Te Awamutu, an air-line distance of SO miles, and owing to very adverse weather conditions the race proved to be a hard one over the distance. Only two members clocked in arrivals on the day of liberation. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 11.30 a.m., the winning bird, Mr. H. E. Crowhurst’s white cock, “White Ensign 2,” regained its loft in Stanley Bay at 3.36 p.m., proving an easy winner by a considerable margin. Details: Mr. H. E.
