EXPERIENCED OFFENDER FINED In fining E. Cheadle £3 and costs, totalling 19s 6d. for carting over fourth-class roads loads in excess of those allowed under the Act, Mr. F. H. Levien. S.M., at Otahuhu today said the defendant had quite a lot of experience. He had appeared on similar charges on four or five occasions. He must understand he has got to stop. Mr. C. W. Clark, inspector for the Manukau County Council, said that Cheadle was carting logs of a total weight of seven tons over roads classed to carry four tons. He had to travel over three such roads to reach his destination. For a similar offence, J. Daly was fined £3 and costs £1 6s. and A. E. Smith £1 10s, and costs £1 6s.
