HEAD-ON COLLISION

MOTOR-CYCLE AND CAR TWO MEN INJURED A liead-on collision between a motor-car and a motor-cycle occurred at Ardmore on the Clevedon main highway at about 6.43 p.m. on Saturday evening. It resulted in Mr Rickey, the driver of the motor-cycle, suffering a compound fracture of the right leg. A pillion-rider, Mr. Burdett, suffered a very severe scalp wound. Dr. W. G. Bridgman attended the*injured men. Mr. Rickery was taken to the Auckland Hospital in the ambit • lance, and Mr. Burdett was given treatment at a private hospital in Papakura He was able to leave the hospital yesterday afternoon. Both men are employed at Clevedon and were proceeding to Papakura when the accident occurred. The driver of the car was a Maori, Joe Roberts, and had as passengers two other Maoris. They were not injured. The windscreen of the car was broker, and radiator stove In.
