STRAND
“PARAMOUNT ON PARADE” “Paramount on Parade,” the magnificent production at the Strand, contains more principal artists than any previous picture. Numerous bright sketches, witty dialogue, popular vocal items and some delightful dancing scenes are contributed by all the leading Paramount players. The opening presentation is a gorgeous dance scene in colour which has as its theme song “Paramount on Parade.” Charles Rogers and Lillian Roth appear in a charming singing interlude and a cleverly-executed travesty on modern detective fiction is given by William Powell as Philo Vance, Clive Brook as Sherlock Holmes, Warner Oland as Dr. Fu Manchu, and Eugene. Pallette as Sergeant Heath; Jack Oakie is the “victim.” There are many other items each with a genuine appeal.
