CHEMIST’S STUDY ABROAD TO TOUR NEW ZEALAND After several months in England and America studying methods and apparatus in use on the various oilfields and in the refineries, Mr. T. Hartigan, chief chemist of the Shell Company of Australia, Eimited, is on his way back to Sydney*. He will arrive .in Auckland tomorrow by the Aorangi, leaving on Wednesday on a tour of the Dominion to enable him to study conditions and needs here. Mr. Hartigan left Australia in June of last year. His trip has included visits to the Shell Company’s refineries and offices in England as well as a comprehensive tour of the American oilfields. He has spent considerable time on development and research work and lias been closely in touch with the technical progress abroad. He is accompanied by Mr. B. F . Elsby, technical adviser to the company. •
