ROXY
TWO FINE COMEDIES A story of the army without a villain And not a war picture! That's “Troopers Three.” the Tiffany alltalink production. featuring Rex Lease. Dorothy Gulliver. Roscoe Karris and Slim Summerville, which is now being shown at the Roxy Theatre. The hero is his own worst enemy, being a "smart Aleck” who needs a lot of freshness taken out of him —and it is! The cavalry, its work and play, day by day, is the background for this original story by Arthur Guy Empey. Swelled heads do not always burst with a loud report and a hiss of hot air. Some of them deflate very slowly indeed, and with the infliction of much pain and distress upon their owners. Tho latter sort of swell-headed youth is revealed in all his glory in “The Time, the Place and the Girl.” the Warner Brothers’ and Vitaphone’s alltalking comedy-drama now at the Roxy as the second feature. Grant Withers is seen as the “hero” —and when one considers that he is the biggest football star of the season, that many women are crazy about him and that bond houses are bidding for his services the instant he gets out of college—one can hardly blame him.
