NOT ENTHUSIASTIC
TAKAPUNA AND AIRPORT Takapuna will not give unqualified support for a municipal airport scheme. The question was discusse* at a meeting of the borough counc last evening, when Crs. Bryce Hart an A. H. Wilkie, the council’s representa tives at the meeting in the City, wliic discussed the scheme, presented thereports. Mr. J. Guiniven took the view th this might well be the thin edge of th wedge and might lead to a big annu: liability. This had been the way wit! tho Museum finance, which had fiuall involved the council in an annual ex penditure of £l6O. He considered thborough, which is purely residentia should take no part in the move for municipal airport. Other members agreed that no d» finite support should be given at leas until after the next meeting of th airport committee, when it is hope* that n concrete scheme will be forthcoming.
