This will mean that any arrangement entered into with the Auto Cycle Council of Australia will 1 mse and one effect of the new affiliati n will be that the New Zealand Speedways’ Association will cease to act as the body to receive and deal with the applications of any speedways for affiliation. The licensing of tracks will be left solely to the N.Z.A.C.U., but speedway bodies wi'l , still be able to make their own arrangement with regard to the interchange of riders with Australia and : England. Criticism of the manner in which ; the N.Z.A.C.U. delegates were re- | eeived by the Australian Council in | Sydney was made by the president of the Dominion body. Mr. W. A. Spragg. of Hawera, who said that, on their av- ; rival at Sydney, they were made 1o ; n eel they were not wanted. Bland- I ford Park was represented separately j at the conference. “We were put on a back landing, I where we paced up and clown, while | the Australian Auto Cycle Council held a council of war. Then I v. a s put in the witness box and cross-exam-ined. I felt like a criminal in the end. j New Zealand’s application was granted, but we did not know of our affiliation with England and what progress had been made in that direction ” Mr. Spragg stated that the New south Wale§ delegates’ attitude bad been belittling to New Zealand, but that every courtesy had been received from Victoria.
