NORTHCOTE FIRE BRIGADE

ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Northcote Fire Brigade was held last evening. The report, presented by the secretary, Mr. A. Watson, stated that 14 outbreaks of fire had occurred during the past year in the boroughs ot Northcote and Birkenhead. Appliances had been thoroughly renovated and Were now in first-class order. The brigade’s library had been considerably increased by donations of books from residents, and many social e venings had been held in the brigade’s recreation room. The following appointments were made: —Captain, W. Roberts; foreman, H. Pearce; senior hydrant man, G Stewart; junior hydrant man, J. Andrews; senior branch man. W. Ward; junior branch man, A. Watson; librarian, W. Roberts: honorary secretary a n<l treasurer, A. Watson.
