FIGHT IN P.W.D. CAMP

AXES AND RAZORS USED MAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Priss Association BLENHEIM, Monday. Brief details reached Blenheim late this afternoon of a sensational affray at No. 8 camp, Kekerangu, as a result of which James Law, a wellknown Blenheim resident, formerly of Swansdown, was taken to the Kaikoura Hospital suffering from the effects of razor slashes. Trouble developed iu the camp yesterday afternoon, when a Blenheim business man, whose name has not been revealed, tried to secure the payment of £lO from one of the Public Works employees. It is stated that the Blenheim resident was followed by a gang of men who attempted to raid the employee’s tent. Axes antf'razors were produced and a regular riot ensued, in the course of which Law was slashed across the face with a razor. The injured man was taken last evening to the Kaikoura Hospital, where he is making good progress.
