CREDITORS DISAGREE

BANKRUPT STOREKEEPER FURTHER INVESTIGATION Opposite views of bankrupt’s conduct were taken nt a meeting of creditors of John Edward Bradley, a storekeeper, of Auckland, before the official assignee, Mr. A. W. Watters, this morning. Bankrupt's schedule showed estimated assets of £478 0s lOd, and £569 5s owing to unsecured creditors, leaving a deficiency of £9t 4s 2d. In liis statement, bankrupt detailed business dealings at Otahuliu, Panmure, and Hobson Street, and said that his position was 'mainly due to unemployment and cut prices in the grocery business. A creditor expressed dissatisfaction with bankrupt, and two others stated that their dealings with him in the past had been satisfactory. The Official Assignee: He's been a muddler, and hasn't kept proper books. He certainly hasn’t conducted his business in a businesslike way. A Creditor: It seems that a partnership exists between bankrupt and the man he employed, and the question should be investigated. Another Creditor: The whole thing is terribly irregular, and it seems that Mr. Bradley incurred debts while he was bankrupt.

After further discussion, the meeting was adjourned to allow tile question of partnership to be investigated, and for the bankrupt to supply further evidence.
