BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS
AUCKLAND REPRESENTED BY TEAM OF EIGHT EVENT THIS MONTH Providing- they continue their training and are fit, all those who won titles at the last Auckland amateur boxing; championships"will be sent to represent Auckland at the New Zealand boxing championships to be held at Palmerston North on August 21. 22 and 23. This decision was made nt a meeting of the Northern Boxing Association, held last evening, when it was also decided to appoint Mr. W. Ham mill as team manager and Mr. E. Donovan as trainer, and that Messrs. Bush; president, and E. A. Craig should attend for the purpose of representing the association at the annual conference of the New Zealand Boxing Association. which will also take place. Auckland lias eight title holders in all and these. Messrs. Bruno, McLaclilin, Purdie. Martin. Cleverley, Neale, Cowan and MeCarthney, will meet at the Fire Brigade Hhation gym. with the manager, Mr. W. Ham mi 11. this evening. The championships at Palmerston North have attracted more than the ufeual number of entries this year and there is every promise of them proving most successful.
