FIFTH TEST PROSPECTS
AUSTRALIANS’ CLAIMS TO SUPERIORITY CRITIC’S ANALYSIS United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 1.10 p.m. LONDON, Sunday. P. F. Warner, cricket critic, in the "Morning Post,” discussing the prospects for the final test match, says the impression the earlier tests leaves is that the Australians are the better team, though England possesses fine individual players. The side, he says, does not seem blend as a combination, largely ow to the lack of allrounders. “Our batting has not quite read expectations, despite the individ good efforts,” he adds. “Leyland has not done all that was expected of him. His length is inadequate. Parker is the most effective left-hand bowler in England, but being 46 years of age, he is a poor bat and fieldsman. Nevertheless, if a soft wicket is assured, he would strengthen the bowling. “Chapman is an inspiring leader, but seems to have declined a little as a tactician.”
