MINOR FIRES

TRUCK BODY DESTROYED The body of a truck owned by Mr. C. Johnson, was completely destroyed by fire while it was stationary on the Pokeno Hill at about eight o’clock on Saturday evening. The vehicle was being brought from the Waikato to Auckland. The outbreak was caused by a backfire. Some sawdust burning in the yard of McGregor’s cabinet factory resulted in a call to the City Fire Brigade at t.S p.m. on Saturday. The factory is in McKelvie Street, Grey Lynn. No damage was done.
