“Charming Sinners” will be the enjoyable talkie attraction at the. Grey Lynn Cinema this evening. This delightful tale of smart society life in London is based on Somerset Maugham’s brilliant play, and stars Ruth Chatterton,.Clive Brook, and William Powell at the head of the splendid cast. Bright talkie shorts are also being shown. Clerical jobs were the beginnings of a number of new famous screen celebrities. William Haines, Metro-Golflwyn-Mayer star, was a broker’s clerk in his first job. Walter.Catlett, playing with Marion Davies in “The Gay Nineties,” was a bank teller. Lawrence Gray worked in his father’s brokerage office and then became a newspaper reporter. Ramon Novarro worked in a monetary exchange concern in the City of Mexico.
