CRYSTAL PALACE AND EMPRESS
“Song of Love,” starring a famous American vaudeville singer. Belle Baker, is the picture at both the Crystal Palace Theatre. Mount Eden, and the Empress Theatre, Newton. The story concerns a mother’s desire to give her boy, who is part of a family vaudeville act. the opportunity to go to school, and become something more than “just an actor.” The father objects to breaking up the act. Conflict follows. The trio separates. Tho father takes on another partner, a blonde vamp. How the family, through tho influence of the youngster, becomes reunited, forms an interesting narrative, well told ancl skilfully directed by Erie C. Kenton. Excellent supports are being shown at both theatres.
