BACCARAT PLAYER FORGOT DEBTS WERE PILING UP Reed. 10.10 a.m. LONDON. Friday. The “Daily Mail’s" Nice correspondent says Major Coats, a member of the well-known cotton thread firm, was playing baccarat against the open bank for stakes of £4,000. He left the table to get refreshments, and instructed the croupier to continue the £4,000 bets till he returned. He fell into conversation with a friend, forgetting the time, and when he returned he found he owed £60,000.
