MY GARDEN
I know a little garden, Nestling ’midst the trees Besid'e a tiny cottage, A haven for the bees. Where the purple pansy Slumbers in its bed, And the golden daffodil Nods its graceful head. The rose, in yonder corner, Blooms red and bright and fair, Giving forth the sweetest scent, Attracting children there. A peep behind this garden Reveals a babbling stream, A rustic seat beneath a tree, Where I may sit and dream. Auriel Shanks, aged 13,
