ESCHSCHOLTZIAS
HARDY ANNUALS FOR DRY PLACES Those delightful flowers, Eschselioltzias, will bloom freely iu the garden, whether in a specially prepared bed or near the path at the foot of a wall. Allow plenty of space between the plants by sowing thinly. It is not advisable to transplant them. They may be cut in the bud stage, the stems immediately plunged into hot water and later arranged indoors in vases. Varieties have been greatly improved of late years. Orange Queen is orange outside and the golden-yellow inside the fluted petals. Tango Is a good bronze-red. Then there are Ivory White and Gaiety, which combines old rose with creamy buff.
