SALE OF FRIESIANS
The dispersal sale of Mr. W. T. Gleeson's “Waipipi” herd of pedigree Friesians was held this week at Waiuku. There was a good gathering of the public, but the animals brought forward were in poor condition and prices suffered accordingly. Fifty-four head were offered and everything was sold. The average for the whole offeAng was 143 guineas, which must be regarded as being satisfactory considering the ages of the stock varied from a day old calf up to a 13-year-old-cow. The eight bulls sold averaged 13 guineas, while the 46 females averaged 15 guineas. Included in the latter were 13 cows which averaged 22 2-5 guineas, 9 rising 3-year-olds averaging 171 guineas, and 4 rising 2-year-oids averaging 17 guineas.
