WAIUKU WEDDING
ATTENDANT MAIDS IN PINK AND BLUE CAPES—WATSON The wedding was celebrated recently at the Holy Trinity Church, Waiuku, of Lilia May, only -aughter of Mrs L Watson and the late Mr. W. Watson. of Waipipi, to William Normar., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Capes, of Rosebank Road, Avondale. The Rev. G. P. Morris officiated, and Mrs Vaughan played the wedding music. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by an old friend of the family, Mr. David Lincoln, of Herne Bay, wore a froclc of ivory silk. The full ankle-iengtii skirt was given a draped effect by two folds, which flared at the sides and was trimmed with ivory ring velvet and silk stitching. The neck and the long tight-fitting sleeves were inlet with an ivory ring velvet design and silk stitching. Her embroiderec tulle veil was arranged on the head with a circlet of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of whit: 4 flowers. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss M. Capes and Miss D. Capes, sisters of the bridegroom, who wore pink and powder blue georgette respectively. The long circular skirts had rows of frills and hung gracefully from the long-sleeved. tight-fitting bodices, which were ornamented with shoulder posies to match. Their felt hats, which were turned back from the face, were trimmed with silk velvet ribbon and they carried bouquets to tone. The Little flower girl, Joan Lincoln, of Herne Bay, wore a frock of mauve frilled georgette with a poke bonnet of mauve rucked georgette, and she carried a Victorian posy in shades of mauve. Mr. R Watson carried out the duties of best man and Mr. C. Capes was
groomsman. The ushers were Mr. EL Watson and Mr. EL D. Lincoln. Mrs. Watson, mother of the bride, wore a frock of black silk m rocain with a fawn felt hat. Her bouquet was of Iceland poppies and violets. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Capes, was wearing an ensemble suit of blue and grey marocain, with a hat to tone, and she carried a bouquet of daphne and violets. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall. To travel in, the bride wore an ensemb e suit of wine-coloured cloth and a felt hat to match. 0
